Your First Visit

Your first visit to Simpson Smile Studio is about more than a checkup. It is a chance to feel heard, to feel calm, and to start seeing your smile with hope again. Many people who come to us have had experiences that left them nervous, embarrassed, or unsure. We built this practice to change that story.

Before You Come In

Once you schedule, our team will walk you through what to expect.

If you have insurance, we can gather your information ahead of time and begin checking your benefits. If you do not have insurance, we can talk through fees and payment options in simple, honest terms.

  • You are welcome to share any concerns before you arrive.
  • You can tell us if you feel anxious.
  • You can tell us if you have avoided the dentist for a long time.

Nothing you say will surprise us. Our job is to make your first step feel easier, not harder.

When You Arrive

When you walk through the door, we want you to feel cared for right away. You are greeted, not rushed. We help you with any remaining forms and explain what will happen next in clear language.

  • The office is calm and warm.
  • You will notice small touches meant to put you at ease.
  • You are not a number being moved through a system.
  • You are a person we are getting to know.

Your Comfort Menu

Soon after check-in, we offer our comfort menu. You can choose the small comforts that help you relax.

You might pick:

  • A soft blanket or pillow
  • Warm, scented towels
  • Wireless headphones
  • Music or a favorite show on a screen
  • Noise-reducing options if sounds bother you

If you feel very anxious, let us know. We can talk about laughing gas or oral sedation when appropriate, along with gentle, painless local anesthesia.

This is your time. We adjust to you.

Meeting Dr. Simpson

When you meet Dr. Simpson, the focus is not on how “good” or “bad” your teeth are. The focus is on you. He starts by listening.

You can share:

  • What brought you in
  • What worries you
  • What you hope your smile can be like in the future
  • Any past experiences that made you hesitant to come back

You can share a lot or a little. He will never make you feel rushed or judged. He believes great dentistry starts here, with real conversation and trust.

A Gentle Exam

If you are comfortable moving forward, he will do a gentle exam. He will move at a pace that respects how you feel.

During the exam, he pays close attention to your comfort. He checks in often. He explains what he is doing in simple terms.

If something causes worry or discomfort, you can raise your hand or ask to pause. You are in control.

Building a Plan Around You

Once everything is clear, you talk together about the next steps.

Maybe you want to:

  • Get out of pain
  • Fix a broken or missing tooth
  • Feel more confident when you smile
  • Simply get back on track after a long break

He then explains which issues need attention sooner and which can safely wait. To keep it from feeling overwhelming, he often creates a phased plan.

That might mean:

  • Phase one to address urgent needs
  • Phase two to restore long-term health
  • Phase three to improve appearance if that matters to you

You will hear honest guidance. There is no pressure to choose the most involved or expensive option. When there are choices, he tells you the pros and cons of each. The plan you leave with should feel realistic and respectful of your life.

Talking About Costs and Scheduling

Before you leave, our team will sit down with you to review:

  • The recommended plan
  • The likely timeline
  • Expected costs and payment options

We keep the conversation calm and simple. If something is not clear, we slow down and explain again.

You are free to ask for time to think. You are free to start small.

Scheduling is done with your life in mind. We do our best to find times that fit your work, family, and energy levels.

If It Has Been a Long Time

If it has been years since your last visit, you are exactly the kind of person we built this practice for.

  • There is no scolding.
  • No lectures.
  • No shaming.

We simply look at where you are today and help you take the next step.

At Simpson Smile Studio, your first visit is not a test you pass or fail. It is the start of a relationship built on comfort, honesty, and care for the person behind the smile.
