How Invisalign Works at Simpson Smile Studio

We know many people put off treatment because they worry about how it will look, how it will feel, or how it will fit into a busy life. Our role is to listen, explain the options in simple terms, and help you decide if Invisalign is the right next step for you.

A Conversation, Not a Sales Pitch

Your Invisalign visit starts with a conversation. Dr. Simpson asks what you’d like to change, what bothers you most, and what kind of timeline or budget you’re working with.

If Invisalign seems like a good fit, we use our iTero digital scanner to take quick images of your teeth—no messy impressions or gagging trays. You can see a 3D model of your smile and talk through possible changes together.

Your Custom Aligners and Plan

From your scan, we design a step-by-step plan that shows how your teeth can move over time. You’ll see the general sequence and get a realistic idea of how long treatment may take. Once your aligners are ready, you’ll come in to try on the first set.

We check the fit, answer questions, and make sure you feel comfortable putting them in and taking them out. You’ll go home with several sets and simple instructions on when to switch.

Living With Aligners

Most people wear their aligners 20–22 hours a day, taking them out to eat, drink anything but water, and brush and floss. You can enjoy your usual foods without worrying about brackets or wires.

We see you every few weeks to make sure everything is moving as planned. These visits are usually short check-ins where we review progress, answer questions, and adjust the plan if needed. If you feel anxious or unsure at any point, we slow down and talk through it.

Protecting Your New Smile

Once your teeth reach their new positions, we focus on keeping them there. You’ll receive custom retainers and clear, simple guidance on when and how to wear them.

We also talk about habits, nighttime grinding, and any other factors that might affect your long-term results. The goal is a smile you feel proud of—and a plan that helps you keep it.

What Invisalign Can Help With

Invisalign can be a good option if you want to:

  • Straighten crowded or overlapping teeth
  • Close small gaps or spaces
  • Soften the look of an overbite or underbite
  • Improve overall alignment without braces

During your consult, Dr. Simpson will be honest if Invisalign is not the best fit for your situation. If another approach would serve you better, he will explain why and walk you through alternatives.

Who Might Be a Good Fit for Invisalign

Invisalign can be a great option if you want a straighter smile without metal braces and you’re ready to wear your aligners consistently each day. It tends to work well for teens and adults with healthy teeth and gums who have mild to moderate crowding, gaps, or bite issues.

You may be a good candidate if:

  • You’re bothered by crooked, overlapping, or spaced teeth.
  • You want something more discreet than traditional braces.
  • You’re comfortable wearing aligners 20–22 hours a day and taking them out to eat and brush.

During your visit, Dr. Simpson will look at your teeth, listen to your goals, and be honest about whether Invisalign can give you the results you’re hoping for—or if another approach would serve you better.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I know if I’m a good candidate?

If your teeth and gums are generally healthy and you’d like to address crowding, gaps, or mild to moderate bite issues, Clear Aligners may be a good option. The best way to know is to schedule a visit, share your goals, and let us honestly walk you through what’s possible.

Does Clear Aligners hurt?

You may feel gentle pressure or soreness when you switch to a new set of aligners—that’s a sign they’re working. This usually fades after a day or two, and most patients find it easier to manage than the rubbing and poking that can come with metal braces.

How long will treatment take?

Many patients finish in about 12–18 months, but some cases are shorter or longer. Dr. Simpson will give you a personalized time frame based on how much movement your teeth need and how consistently you can wear your aligners.

Will Clear Aligners fit into my daily life?

Most people adjust quickly. You wear the aligners most of the day, remove them to eat and brush, and clean them with a simple routine. Because they’re clear and removable, they tend to work well for work, school, and social events.

How much does Clear Aligners cost?

The cost depends on how complex your case is and how long treatment will take. At your consultation, we review your goals, outline a plan, and give you a clear estimate, including how insurance, CareCredit, or in-house payment options might help.
